OHSU Practice Plan | School of Medicine
The OHSU School of Medicine is the organizational home for practicing clinicians who care for patients in OHSU Health hospitals and clinics. These clinicians all belong to the OHSU Practice Plan (OPP), the largest organized clinical practice in Oregon. The goal of the OPP is to establish and maintain the OHSU Practice Plan as a premier academic clinical practice for faculty and clinical associates.
The school and OHSU Health are fully integrated in the clinical mission. The Dean serves as president and chairs the OHSU Practice Plan Board of Directors. The OPP leadership and team is housed in the Dean’s Office. The CEO of OHSU Health sits on the OPP Board, and the budgets of the two entities are aligned.
Who is an OHSU Practice Plan member?
Practice Plan members include every full-time or part-time employed physician, advanced practice provider and clinical psychologist at the OHSU School of Medicine or School of Nursing who engages in professional practice in the care of patients and charges professional fees.
Physicians include doctors of medicine (M.D.s), doctors of osteopathic medicine (D.O.s) and doctors of podiatric medicine (D.P.M.s). Advanced practice providers, or APPs, include physician associates (PAs), nurse practitioners (NPs), certified nurse-midwives (CNMs) and certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs).
The uniquely collaborative and collegial culture of OHSU clinical faculty and staff contributes to novel solutions and outcomes to provide excellent patient care.
Responsibilities of the OHSU Practice Plan:
