Class Profiles

The following table represents information regarding the most recent matriculated classes. In general, students accepted into the OHSU PA Program come from a wide variety of backgrounds.

The program strives to recruit students from across the nation. Entering students bring experience in health care from many types of backgrounds to include experience as emergency medical technicians (EMT), paramedics, certified nursing assistants (CNA), medical assistants, phlebotomists, scribes, and naturopaths to name a few.

Although the program doesn’t require or prefer a specific major for entering students, we tend to see most bachelor’s degrees from areas such as biology, psychology, and general science. We have seen a fair number of bachelor’s degrees in English, History, Art History, etc., and these entering students will usually have obtained their science credits as a post-baccalaureate student.
