Academic Policy
Academic policies help govern the education mission at OHSU. On this page, you can find policy-related information and links to helpful resources.
In support of the Committee on Academic Policy, the Office of Academic Affairs:
- Coordinates the development and maintenance of policies and procedures related to academic affairs and student life
- Provides oversight of policies and procedures at the school and academic unit level
- Recommends university-wide policies and procedures, as appropriate
- Reports policy activity to the provost and Policy Advisory Committee

Academic policy development process
Faculty, staff and administrators across the OHSU education mission help develop and revise academic policies. They present policies to the Committee on Academic Policy for review and approval every other month.
The committee includes faculty, academic administrators, a faculty senator, a student representative, and members from the Office of the Provost and the Office of General Counsel.

To suggest a concept or revision for the Committee on Academic Policy, individuals or academic units should email the Office of Academic Affairs at academicpolicy@ohsu.edu. Requests will be reviewed in accordance with the academic policy process map.
