Mentorship Academy

When you join OHSU, you’ll have access to the Mentorship Academy, a mentorship training that helps you build the skills to become an effective mentor.

  •  Teaching Toolbox. Find guides, tools and tutorials to support course planning, online and hybrid instruction, student engagement, FERPA compliance and more.
  • Fundamentals of Teaching and Learning. Take self-paced modules on preparing for the term, digital teaching essentials, building an inclusive learning environment and clinical teaching.
  • AI in teaching. Explore resources for using generative AI effectively and responsibly in your teaching practice.
  • Teaching technology. Get support with learning management systems, instructional apps, course evaluations, accessibility and Universal Design for Learning.
  • Training Future Faculty. Participate in the Training for Future Faculty program, designed for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars to prepare for teaching careers through workshops, mentoring and skill-building opportunities.

Education Scholars program

Build your skills as an education scholar and leader through the one-year Education Scholars Program. You’ll learn education theory, apply research methods and join a community that supports your growth as a scholar. The program is free for educators and trainees in the School of Medicine and open to those in other schools for a fee.

You can apply for an Educator Success Grant to support your growth as a teacher, scholar and leader.

  • Request up to $3,000 for courses, conferences or certifications
  • Use funds for travel, materials or registration
  • Available to all OHSU educators 

Professional Development Series

Build foundational skills and community through a series of workshops designed for new and early-career faculty and educators. Educators at all stages are welcome.

  • Runs every fall from September to December
  • Includes six interactive, two-hour workshops
  • Open to faculty, staff, postdocs and graduate students
