Our highly regarded melanoma team is led by Sancy Leachman, M.D., Ph.D., chair of dermatology and director of the Melanoma Program at the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute. She works with a team of melanoma experts from dermatology, surgical oncology, head and neck surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, nuclear medicine, plastic surgery and pathology to provide comprehensive melanoma treatment. The team meets frequently to discuss and plan treatment for patients.

John Vetto, M.D., FACS, leads the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute's melanoma surgery team. Since joining the OHSU faculty, he has performed more than 1,700 melanoma-related procedures. He directs the OHSU Department of Surgery's Cutaneous Oncology (skin cancer) program, and is head of the clinical care team for melanoma. Dr. Vetto is an internationally recognized cancer researcher who is involved in clinical trials of new treatments. He works with dermatologists, oncologists and other specialists at our regular melanoma conference to make sure every patient receives individual care.
