About me

I am a radiation oncologist specializing in the treatment of adult patients with lung cancer and central nervous system cancers. This includes treatment of primary brain tumors such as glioblastoma as well as metastatic disease to the brain and benign tumors such as meningioma. I deliver advanced radiation treatments such as stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) in my practice. I am committed to delivering personalized, evidence-based, care in every patient and I collaborate closely with neurosurgery, thoracic surgery and medical oncology in order to provide effective multidisciplinary care. 

In addition to my clinical practice, I also serve as the Director of Clinical Research for the OHSU Department of Radiation Medicine to facilitate access to trial therapy for our patients. I serve as the Assistant Director of Cancer Research Education and Training at the Knight Cancer Institute to help train future generations of scientists and doctors focused on cancer care. My laboratory research program is focused on developing new gene therapies in combination with nanoparticle delivery for the treatment of cancer. As part of my practice, I mentor and train medical students, residents, and future cancer researchers. In my free time I enjoy travel, hiking, golf and cooking with my wife and two children.

If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.

  1. Dr. Josh Walker took his time to explain the options available to me. He listened to me and understood my concerns. I wish that every doctor I meet with treated me the way Dr. Walker did. Dr. Weinberg, the resident, was also very good in answering my questions when Dr, Walker left. I left confident that I was in good hands.

  4. Dr. Walker was exceptional. He described my problem, recommended potential treatments and described the consequences of each option. The resident doctor who's name I don't remember was also great.

  5. He took the time to explain in words I could understand. Showed me the pictures of the MRI and showed me picture of when we first found out tumor and then the MRI scan of now. He listened to my response to their questions and made me feel like he really cared about me and what I am going through.
