The cost of attendance includes estimated instructional and estimated non-instructional costs. Estimated instructional costs are tuition, fees, books, and supplies. Estimated non-instructional costs include housing, transportation, and personal expenses.

Estimated Tuition and Fees

All OHSU non Tuition Promise rates and fees are reviewed each year and are subject to change.  New Tuition Promise rates for future admits are subject to approval by the Provost office. If approved new rates will be determined.

If you are enrolled in the 3 year OCNE program or RNBS while dually enrolled at a partner institution, the links below will provide the partner school's tuition and fee information. These are subject to change as determined by the partner institution.

Estimated Living Expenses

Living expenses are comprised of a standard allotment for room and board, transportation, and personal/misc. expenses for a student.  The amount of living expenses will be based on the student’s specific period of enrollment in that financial aid year.  

If a student is attending term long courses or multiple courses spanning at least 10 weeks of the fall, winter, and spring terms, the living allowance is 3 months per term. 

Summer term can have more variations of enrollment as some programs (and some students within some programs) may only attend part of the term.  In addition, some programs are offered in modules.  In that case, there is a possibility a student may not be enrolled in the entire term.  Anytime a student is enrolled in less than 10 weeks in the term, the living expenses will be prorated.

OHSU does not provide on-campus student housing.

Estimated Federal Student Loan Fees

All Federal Direct Loans, which include Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford loans, Direct Graduate PLUS loans and Direct Parent PLUS loans, have an origination fee that is deducted from each disbursement of the loan.  Your budget will reflect your Direct Loan origination costs as determined below.  If you are an undergraduate and if your remaining period of enrollment is less than 3 terms, the estimated loan origination fees will vary based on the amount of the loan.

Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford Loans

• For loans first disbursed between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024, the interest rate is 5.50%.  
  • For loans first disbursed between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025, the interest rate has not yet been determined but can’t exceed 8.25%. Typically, the rate is available at the end of May and will be posted when available.​​​​​​

• The current origination rates through September 30, 2024 for the Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford Loans are 1.057% 
  • For loans first disbursed on or after October 1, 2024: The U.S. Department of Education has not yet determined the origination fee for these loans. This new origination rate will be posted when available.

Federal Direct PLUS Loans

• For loans first disbursed between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024, the interest rate is 7.54%. If you qualify for the maximum amount of loans, below are the estimated loan origination fees for the Direct Stafford loans.  
  • For loans first disbursed between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025, the interest rate has not yet been determined but can’t exceed 10.50%. Typically, the rate is available at the end of May and will be posted when available.

• The current origination rates through September 30, 2024 for the Federal Direct PLUS Loans is 4.228%. Currently, for those that qualify, the yearly limit is based on the cost of attendance minus any aid or resources awarded. Therefore, the loan fees can vary from student to student.
  • For loans first disbursed on or after October 1, 2024: The U.S. Department of Education has not yet determined the origination fee for these loans. This new origination rate will be posted when available.
