I see patients atAbout me
I'm a board-certified nephrologist specializing in kidney and pancreas transplantation. I care for adults and older adults, and I currently serve as Medical Director of the Renal Transplant Ambulatory Clinics at OHSU.
Some of the treatments I offer my patients include:
With a clinical focus on transplantation, I help patients navigate every stage of their transplant journey. I evaluate candidates for the following transplants:
-
Kidney-alone
-
Kidney-pancreas
-
Liver-kidney
-
Heart-kidney transplants
I also evaluate people who wish to donate a kidney to a loved one.
Once a transplant happens, I provide ongoing care both in the hospital and in clinic. I monitor a patient's new organ, managing rejection or infection if it occurs, and treating related issues like high blood pressure and electrolyte imbalances.
To make care more accessible, I also hold outreach clinics in Eugene and Medford, so patients who can't easily travel to Portland can still receive expert transplant evaluation closer to home.
Beyond patient care, I'm an educator and active researcher. I've published work on kidney injury, transplant immunology and long-term outcomes, and I regularly review research in my field to help advance the care we provide.
There's nothing more rewarding to me than watching my patients get their lives back after living with chronic kidney disease or dialysis. Helping you regain your independence, improve your quality of life and live longer, healthier years is at the heart of why I do this work.

Insurance
Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.
If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.

Above and beyond!
All my questions and concerns were addressed at length and to my satisfaction. Our communication was clear and concise. I gained more updated information which is helping me make my decision regarding future kidney transplant.
Very attentive. Answered all questions.
Professional and patient.
At times I felt like the appointment was rushed. Like we were trying to get through the "boxes" for checking in on things. I had few issues or concerns, so that might have been part of it, but I feel like, as a new transplant recipient, I should be getting some education during these visits. However, I'm not always sure what to ask.
He spoke simply and cared enough so I understood his concerns.
Dr Pandav presented my labs clearly for me to understand. He also listened intently when I had questions.
The best I ever been!!
Very good. Answered questions. Confirmed medication list.
