OHSU Addiction Consult Line

The OHSU Addiction Consult Line provides free, same-day phone consultation to Oregon physicians, advance practice providers, pharmacists and other staff treating addiction.

Our goal is to increase Oregon providers’ access to life-saving addiction treatment. In addition to providers, we accept calls from pharmacists, care coordinators, peer support specialists and others who need advice on addiction treatment.

We offer consultation for all treatment settings including hospitals, outpatient clinics and specialty addiction treatment.. We can help you with:

  • Starting and titrating medications, including methadone and buprenorphine for opioid use disorder, and medications for alcohol use disorder.
  • Managing acute pain in the context of opioid use disorder.
  • Supporting buprenorphine low-dose “micro” inductions.
  • Legal questions about prescribing medications for opioid use disorder.
  • Management of addiction in special populations, including peripartum and adolescent patients.
  • Any other addiction-related questions.

When you call, you’ll speak with a physician  who is board-certified in addiction medicine and has treated addiction in a variety of settings.
