OHSU and Regence BlueCross BlueShield reach new agreement

OHSU and Regence BlueCross BlueShield reached agreement on new multi-year contracts on August 27, 2026. All Regence members can continue their in-network care through Dec. 31, 2026, as part of an approved transition period.

What this means for 2027:

  • OHSU remains in-network for Regence employer-sponsored and other commercial plans.
  • OHSU will no longer be in-network for Regence Medicare Advantage and individual plans.

No changes for employer-sponsored plans

OHSU, OHSU Hospital, OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital, OHSU clinics and OHSU health care professionals will remain in network for Regence employer-sponsored and other commercial health plans. Most Regence members can continue getting care at OHSU with no changes.

Hillsboro Medical Center has also reached a separate agreement with Regence. Most Regence members can continue getting care at Hillsboro Medical Center with no changes.

Changes for some Regence plans

Regence is making changes to some of its health plan networks.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2027, Regence will not include OHSU and Hillsboro Medical Center as participating providers in:

  • Regence Medicare Advantage HMO/PPO plans
  • Regence individual plans

If you have one of these plans, contact Regence to learn about your coverage and out-of-network benefits.

You have choices

Members of these plans can review their plan options during the enrollment periods this fall.

  • Medicare Advantage members can review and change plans during the Medicare Annual Open Enrollment period from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7.
  • Individual plans begin enrollment in November.
