Research Integration Team

Our research integration team helps scientists and communities form bidirectional relationships to support cancer-related needs in Oregon.
Knight Cancer Institute scientists from each program area meet regularly with community outreach and engagement leaders to discuss current activities and research priorities and to evaluate data that impact people and communities throughout the state. Each year, this group is joined by members of the Community Advisory Council.
The meetings are facilitated using the strengths-based Appreciative Inquiry approach to help encourage a shared vision and to build trust and relationships. These gatherings also provide a forum for scientists and community members to share perspectives on research initiatives and to discuss and review pilot project and funding opportunities.
