About me

I am a neurosurgeon who helps people with brain and spinal tumors, including those that spread from other parts of the body. I use advanced treatments, including:

  • Awake brain surgery
  • Laser interstitial thermal therapy
  • Focused ultrasound

In my research lab, I study how patients do after brain tumor surgery. This helps me give care that is personal and based on real-world results. I also explore new treatments for brain tumors and work with clinical trials that give patients access to the latest options.

Every patient’s cancer journey is different. I take time to understand each person, their family and their life. I believe treatment should fit who they are, not just their diagnosis. The resilience and strength I see in my patients inspires me every day.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, running, tennis and traveling with my wife. I also like golf, cooking and listening to classical music.

Insurance

Before scheduling an appointment

  1. Check your network. If you have health insurance,  call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
  2. Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.

If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.

Visit our billing and insurance page for more information.
