About me
I am a neurologist specializing in neuromuscular disease. I work with adults of all ages to diagnose and treat complex conditions affecting the muscles, nerves and the connections between them.
My areas of focus include:
- ALS
- Hereditary and acquired polyneuropathies and myopathies
- Myositis
- Myasthenia gravis
- Lambert-Eaton Myasthenic Syndrome
Depending on your condition, treatment may involve immune system therapies such as steroids, IVIG or plasma exchange. I also offer my patients newer disease-modifying medications like antisense oligonucleotides and symptom management approaches tailored to your specific needs.
One of my favorite parts of this work is taking the time to help you understand what's happening in your body: why your symptoms feel the way they do and why we're approaching your care the way we are. You should never leave an appointment feeling confused or unheard.
I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I was an athlete year-round and developed a deep curiosity about how the body works, especially the nervous system. I was fascinated by the science behind movement and skill, and that curiosity eventually led me to neurology and neuromuscular medicine. It's a field I find endlessly meaningful, because understanding what's happening in your body is the first step toward managing it well.
When I'm not seeing patients, you'll find me on the basketball court, out on a hiking trail or in the kitchen cooking something new. I'm also a proud Portland Trail Blazers fan and love spending time with my wife, family and friends.

Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.
If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.
