About me

I am a neurosurgeon who cares for adults and older adults, with a focus on helping people living with:

I use minimally invasive neurosurgical techniques using precise imaging (MRI, CT) and guidance systems to provide my patients with:

I strive to provide my patients with skilled, compassionate and empathetic care. I take the time to understand each patient’s unique goals, concerns and daily challenges.

In addition to my clinical work, I am actively involved in research focused on improving patient outcomes. My research interests include mapping brain pathways involved in chronic pain and epilepsy, studying neuromodulation and deep brain stimulation outcomes and exploring new technologies such as focused ultrasound and advanced imaging tools. I am also interested in improving post-operative pain control and expanding treatment options that may allow surgery to be safer and more effective for more patients.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, cooking, exercising and listening to music. I am married to my wife, Victoria, and we have a son, Noah James. I am also a proud dog-dad to our Husky, Maxwell.

Insurance

Before scheduling an appointment

  1. Check your network. If you have health insurance,  call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
  2. Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.

If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.

Visit our billing and insurance page for more information.
