About me
I am a maternal-fetal medicine doctor (MFM), also known as a high-risk obstetrics and gynecology doctor (OB/GYN). This means I specialize in caring for people during pregnancy and childbirth, many of whom have chronic conditions, complications of pregnancy or babies with differences. I see patients in several different settings: for prenatal care in the clinic, for ultrasounds and in the hospital for childbirth.
I attended medical school in Cincinnati, Ohio, where I completed a combined M.D.-Ph.D. program. After graduating, I moved to Detroit, Michigan, for my general OB/GYN training. I moved to Oregon for further training in high-risk pregnancy at OHSU and chose to stay on as a provider.
In addition to caring for patients, I am a physician-scientist supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). My research focuses on how common exposures, such as substance use, can affect pregnancy and child health. My goal is to use this research to help improve the health of patients and families.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and our dog. We love trying new restaurants, exploring local park and visiting the coast.

Insurance
Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.
If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.
