Biography
Rahul D’Mello, M.D., Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at OHSU. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, he attended Johns Hopkins University and majored in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. After graduating, he attended the Medical Scientist Training Program (combined M.D. and Ph.D.) at the University of Cincinnati, completing a Ph.D. in Immunology with Dr. Marc Rothenberg, M.D., Ph.D. at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center, home to the NIH/NICHD Perinatal Research Branch.
He moved to Oregon for his Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship at OHSU and stayed on as faculty. He is a physician scientist supported by the NIH/NICHD K12 Reproductive Scientist Development Program (RSDP) and studies the impact of parental environmental exposures, such as substance use and infectious diseases, on reproductive health and offspring outcomes in the laboratory of Dr. Jamie Lo.
