About me

I’m a family medicine doctor who cares for patients of all ages—from infants and children to adults and older adults. As a primary care physician, I diagnose and treat a wide variety of health conditions and focus on preventive care to help you stay well.

I have special interests in:

  • Gender-affirming care
  • LGBTQ+ care
  • Office procedures
  • Reproductive health

I consider the best part of my job to be getting to know my patients. I love that there is always something new to learn in the practice of medicine, and my goal is to approach every visit with curiosity and kindness.

I was born and raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I first fell in love with Portland while spending a year here after college as an AmeriCorps/Jesuit Volunteer with Central City Concern. After completing my medical training in Upstate New York and Northern California, I’m delighted to be back in the beautiful, rainy Pacific Northwest.

Outside of work, I enjoy biking around Portland, drawing and struggling through the New York Times daily crossword. My partner, Neel, is a fellow in Maternal Fetal Medicine and Genetics at OHSU. We live with two mischievous cats and hope to add backyard quail to our home someday.

Insurance

Before scheduling an appointment

  1. Check your network. If you have health insurance,  call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
  2. Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.

If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.

Visit our billing and insurance page for more information.
