About me
I’m a cardiologist specializing in the diagnosis and management of heart conditions such as:
- Coronary artery disease
- Heart failure
- Hypertension
- Atrial fibrillation
- Valvular heart disease
I also have a special focus on preventive cardiology, helping patients reduce risk factors like high cholesterol and supporting long-term heart health.
I interpret EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests and heart rhythm monitoring to guide personalized treatment.
My goal is to work together with patients as a team. I want each person to feel heard and supported, and I strive to set achievable goals that make a real difference in their heart health.
I was born and raised in Asunción, Paraguay, and during medical school, I completed rotations at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, where I discovered my passion for cardiology. After graduating from the Universidad Nacional de Asunción, I completed my residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago and earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Research at Rush University. I then completed my cardiology fellowship at the University of Illinois in Peoria before joining the OHSU HMC cardiology team.
Outside of work, I enjoy weightlifting, hiking and staying active. I also love tennis and singing, and I’m beginning to revisit both. At home, I spend time with my cat, Stealth, and my dog, Berland, a Catahoula.

If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.
