About me

I’m a family medicine physician providing primary care for children, adults and older adults.

As a primary care provider, I care for a broad range of conditions and have a special focus on:

  • Addiction medicine
  • Community health
  • Reproductive health
  • LGBTQ+ care
  • Gender-affirming care

At OHSU, I practice family-centered primary care at a Federally-Qualified Health Center. I feel honored to partner with patients across all life stages, genders and cultural and linguistic backgrounds. To me, family medicine is not only about continuity of care but also about building community and advancing social change.

I was born into a community of circus performers in San Francisco and raised in northeast Portland by an artist/teacher and a carpenter. After studying Mandarin in college, I worked on the Tibetan Plateau and in India before pursuing medicine. During medical school and residency, I trained in rural and underserved communities across Alaska, Montana and Oregon, experiences that shaped my commitment to broad-spectrum, community-based care.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing with my four cats—one of whom, Nemo, insists on daily neighborhood walks. I also love biking, hiking, learning to play the banjo ukulele and signing up for Portland Parks & Rec classes (most recently, boxing).

Insurance

Before scheduling an appointment

  1. Check your network. If you have health insurance,  call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
  2. Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.

If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.

Visit our billing and insurance page for more information.
