About me

I'm a neurologist whose focus includes:

Many of my patients have tried conventional treatments and are looking for additional options, and I find that integrating complementary therapies alongside standard neurological care can make a meaningful difference in how people feel day to day.

I have a passion for combining the best of conventional medicine with evidence-informed complementary approaches including acupuncture, mind-body practices, nutritional support and lifestyle medicine. My goal is to offer a more complete toolkit for managing neurological conditions, particularly those involving chronic pain.

One of my core areas of expertise is acupuncture. I practice a structural, palpation-based approach that targets the specific anatomical sites contributing to a patient's pain. I've used this technique to help many patients find relief from chronic headache and pain conditions that haven't fully responded to other treatments. As an NIH-funded researcher, I stay closely connected to the scientific literature on acupuncture and other complementary therapies, so you can feel confident that what I recommend is grounded in the best available evidence.

Beyond acupuncture, I'm deeply interested in how supplements, dietary changes and mind-body practices (such as meditation and stress reduction) can support neurological health. I collaborate closely with colleagues at the National College of Natural Medicine and the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, which allows me to draw on a broad network of expertise to benefit my patients.

Insurance

Before scheduling an appointment

  1. Check your network. If you have health insurance,  call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
  2. Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.

If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.

Visit our billing and insurance page for more information.
