About me
I am an obstetrician-gynecologist (OB/GYN doctor) who cares for patients during pregnancy and the postpartum period.
I have a special focus on hospital-based care and addiction medicine, with particular expertise in supporting individuals experiencing substance use during these important life stages.
I have worked in the Portland community as an OB/GYN generalist and hospitalist since 1998. More recently, I completed an Addiction Medicine Fellowship at OHSU, which allows me to combine my experience in obstetrics with specialized care for patients affected by substance use during pregnancy and after delivery.
My approach to care is grounded in respect, partnership and humility. I strive to meet each patient where they are, honoring their lived experiences, goals and priorities. I offer evidence-based guidance in a way that feels supportive and collaborative, not prescriptive. I believe trust grows through clear communication, transparency and shared decision-making.
I work to create a safe, welcoming space where patients feel heard, valued and empowered—especially during vulnerable or transitional moments.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, running, skiing, playing tennis and traveling to new places. I also enjoy baking and sewing as ways to relax and recharge.

Insurance
Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.
If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.
