About me

I’m a registered nurse and the nurse coordinator for the Cardiac Rehabiliation Program. Nursing is actually my second career—before becoming an RN, I spent 20 years owning and managing my own massage therapy business. I became a nurse 10 years ago, and I’ve loved the journey ever since.

I began my nursing career on 14C, an inpatient medicine unit at OHSU, and then spent five years working as a telephone triage nurse in the KCVI Cardiology Clinic. While I’m new to Cardiac Rehabiliation, I truly feel that all my prior experience has led me to this role. I’m excited to work closely with patients as they recover from cardiac events and support them in creating sustainable lifestyle changes that improve heart health.

I treat patients recovering from cardiac arrest, coronary artery disease, heart failure, angiograms and bypass surgeries, valve surgeries, transplants, and other cardiac conditions. My focus is on post-treatment exercise monitoring and care planning that includes diet, exercise, medication adherence, smoking cessation, stress reduction and overall wellbeing.

What motivates me most is seeing patients take an active role in their recovery. I love helping people find a path toward better health and seeing their confidence grow as they meet their goals.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and adult children, especially while exploring the beautiful mountains and beaches of the Pacific Northwest. My favorite pastimes include gardening, fly fishing, biking, tackling home remodel projects and local travel.

Insurance

Before scheduling an appointment

  1. Check your network. If you have health insurance,  call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
  2. Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.

If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.

Visit our billing and insurance page for more information.
