About me
Dr. Janzen completed his doctorate in clinical psychology at George Fox University in 2005. He joined the faculty after completing a postdoctoral residency at a children's outpatient mental health treatment center in Boise, Idaho and a postdoctoral fellowship at OHSU. Currently, Dr. Janzen conducts comprehensive interdisciplinary diagnostic evaluations through the CDRC Child Development clinics. Areas of specialty include attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and learning disabilites.
Additionally, he is involved in individual therapy cases and supervises intern therapists offering treatment to children, adolescents, and families, specifically in areas of cognitive restructuring, behavior management, and emotional regulation. He also provides intervention services, in conjunction with a team of highly specialized medical providers, within both the Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing Disorders Clinic and the Healthy Lifestyles Clinic.
He has worked in a variety of community, university, and hospital based environments providing services to children, adolescents, families, and adults. Dr. Janzen's research interests include examining anxiety and adaptive coping mechanisms, as well as issues related to executive functioning in children. He is also currently involved in studies with patients who have been diagnosed with PKU, examining new and effective medical treatments.
