About me

Dr. Dalia Baadarani is a clinical director and researcher with the Intercultural Psychiatric Program (IPP). Driven by a profound interest in research centered on refugee and immigrant communities, she plays a pivotal role at OHSU, where she leads a burgeoning, multidisciplinary team of clinicians. Dr. Baadarani's primary mission is to furnish essential clinical care and resources to her clients, reflecting her unwavering commitment to ensuring equitable and comprehensive healthcare for those in need.

With a Ph.D. in Counseling from Oregon State University and a wealth of experience spanning over a decade, Dr. Baadarani is a licensed professional and Arabic-speaking counselor. Her mission is to support the mental health needs of refugees and immigrants, with a distinct focus on the transformative power of health and social justice.

Dr. Baadarani specializes in working with women facing challenges related to trauma, relationship issues, intersectional identities, and gender inequality, all with the ultimate goal of helping them feel valued in all aspects of their lives. Her extensive background in mental health, combined with her insightful perspective, enables her to effectively serve marginalized populations and foster community building. As an immigrant, Dr. Baadarani offers a unique approach informed by her own lived experiences, allowing her to understand the nuanced challenges that come with these identities.

In her role as a therapist, Dr. Baadarani is dedicated to trauma-informed and decolonizing therapy. She employs diverse and inclusive principles from various therapy modalities, including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic Mindfulness, and DBT. Her expertise extends to working with individuals dealing with trauma, multicultural issues, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges, with a focus on cultivating a positive perspective and fostering appreciation.
