About me
Zachary G. Jacobs, MD, FHM, FACP is a hospitalist who is passionate about medical education, medical humanities (narrative and graphic medicine), and health equity/global health. After graduating from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science, Dr. Jacobs received his medical degree with honors from the Oregon Health & Science University. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center via the Global Health & Underserved Populations Track, which afforded him the opportunity to work with underserved populations in both the Navajo Nation as well as Malawi. He completed an Academic Hospital Medicine Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco before returning to OHSU as faculty in 2018. In his free time, he enjoys reading fiction, exploring national parks, and using creative writing, photography, and art to tell stories and reflect on his experiences in healthcare.

Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.
If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.
