Dr. Monique Jones believes in preparation for success. After completing her Pre-Medicine education in three years, she participated in research at Yale University under the tutelage of Psychiatrist Dr. Hilary Blumberg for several years and a number of articles were published. Dr. Jones believes in doing more than what is required through an intense focus. Unafraid of challenges, she has dedicated her life to helping those who others may want to exclude. After completing a post-baccalaureate program at Yale, Dr. Jones resumed her journey through medical school. While in medical school, she volunteered to assist in a student-run clinic that provided clinical services to underserved clients. She received the Service Award for Outstanding Resident in her final year of Residency.
Dr. Jones became a Board Certified Psychiatrist in 2014, and completed an Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University in 2015. Public policy and its effect on healthcare delivery systems are areas of interest to Dr. Jones. Specifically, in how to de-stigmatize mental health illnesses and substance use disorders in order for clients to have access to much needed care and treatment. In addition to her role as an Assistant Professor at OHSU, she is the newly appointed Medical Director of the Avel Gordly Center for Healing, the Medical Director of Addictions at Cascadia Behavioral Healthcare, and a consulting Psychiatrist in the OHSU Telepsychiatry clinic.
