About me

Erica L. Smith-Cohen is a nurse practitioner who joins the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine after practicing in a variety of critical care settings as both a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Provider since 2008. Her primary background is in surgical, neurologic and trauma critical care. She was also fortunate to work in the Division of Infectious Diseases collaborating on APP role development within their department.

Her interests include neurologic outcomes following cardiac arrest or trauma, sepsis, infectious diseases and care of medically vulnerable populations. Her academic focus is on practical application of clinical research and development of formal post-graduate APP education. She completed a graduate thesis exploring RN comfort with withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment across varying ICU settings and served as a student member on the Yale-New Haven Hospital Medical Ethics Committee.

Erica lives in Beaverton with her husband and their two young children and enjoys yoga, trips to the OR coast, wine-tasting and getting lost in a good book.

Insurance

Before scheduling an appointment

  1. Check your network. If you have health insurance,  call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
  2. Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.

If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.

Visit our billing and insurance page for more information.
