If we are talking about Dr. Emerson Chen, he has provided excellent care in addressing post-surgery treatment of my colon cancer. I trust his medical judgement regarding the chemotherapy recommendations and surveillance to monitor my condition. Beyond that, he is a very nice, kind and warm person. I am so fortunate to be under his care
All the staff, from the check in desk, to the nurses doctors even receptionists, are courteous, thorough, and truly compassionate, most especially knowledgeable and easy to talk to.
My visits were very good
Very thorough. Asked several questions, listened with care, offered easy to follow next steps
Dr. Chen is intelligent and caring.
He was very informative. He answered all my questions. Honesty. That was huge.
Doctor chen communicated at a speed and level I could understand
Dr. Chen is the best doctor I've ever had. No doubt about it.
I appreciate Dr. Chen. I feel like I had a rough start with him in the beginning, years ago,(he did not know this. I feel he was often unprepared for my visits and questions, having not read my scan results thoroughly. I could be wrong in this description; this is what I perceived. I come highly prepared to my appointments and understand medical terminology well. I have not experienced that in quite a while with him, and I have left my more recent appointments and this one feeling like he put more energy into preparation, which makes me feel more secure as a patient. Again, I appreciate Dr. Chen.
Very professional and deeply knowledgeable. Spent a very solid amount of time answering our questions.
I trust Dr Chen. Very thankful for him.
Dr. Chen was very knowledgeable and friendly. I was very comfortable entrusting my care to him.
Dr. Chen is doing his best to cure me
Dr. Chen is intent on my care, he listens and is knowledgeable. He is one of the two clinicians I return to OHSU for. He and Dr. Herzig are both worth the stress. But I wish there were less of it.
Dr. Chen really listens and takes time with me.

Dr. Chen is amazing. I feel so fortunate to be in his care.
Dr Chen is very clear about evaluating his patients on an individual basis and doesn't just stick to a general standard of care but looks into the patients specific needs and other health conditions to come up with the most optimal care plan. Dr Chen has been inspirational to me and my family on my cancer journey.
All his explanations were very articulate and clear.
Had a great conversation with Dr. Chen. We covered all that needed to be reviewed. He answered all my questions.
He is smart, knows his material and doesn't have his own agenda. He just wants me to get as healthy as possible.
