About me

Mengyu is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at OHSU. She is based at OHSU Health Hillsboro Medical Center, and is a core faculty of the OHSU Hillsboro Internal Medicine and Transitional Year residency programs. She also serves as the site director for OHSU School of Medicine Internal Medicine Acting Internship at Hillsboro campus. She completed her internal medicine residency training at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, and worked for a year as faculty at UCSF, prior to joining her family in Portland.

Her primary clinical and academic interest is learning and teaching in clinical reasoning, and she is a team member of the Clinical Problem Solvers. She is also interested in applying point-of-care ultrasound in patient care and bedside teaching, and building resident education website along with self-assessment tools to help trainees navigate in the complex learning environment with growth mindset. Through her part-time role in clinical informatics, she explores using health informatics lens and tools to systematically improve patient care and medical education.

In her free time, she enjoys nerding out with her fellow clinical problem solvers, listening to audiobooks, learning Spanish, playing music, and spending time with her family.
