About me
I am originally from a small town in northeast Iowa. I moved to St. Paul, MN to attend Macalester College, where I studied Latin American literature and biology. I attended medical school at Stanford University School of Medicine and completed both my anesthesia residency and pediatric anesthesia fellowship at Stanford Medical Center/Lucile Packard Children's Hospital. After completing my training, I joined the faculty at Stanford in the pediatric anesthesia group. My family and I later relocated to the Pacific Northwest, and I joined the faculty at OHSU in the division of pediatric anesthesia. Since 2016, I have worked for the Northwest Permanente Medical group. My time is divided between Kaiser patient care sites and Doernbecher Children's Hospital. My primary academic interests include global health service, education and training, as well as physician wellness and peer support.
I thoroughly enjoy working with children and families. I strive to meet each patient and their family where they are, providing reassurance and confidence in the perioperative process.

Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.
If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.
