About me

Dr. Guimaraes provides anesthesia for adult surgical patients as well as patients undergoing out of operating room procedures and obstetric patients. She loves her anesthesia practice because of the intellectual curiosity, teamwork, and compassion that her work requires every day.

Her husband Alexander is also an OHSU physician, as well as a cancer researcher. In addition to their medical practices, they are also running a household and raising two energetic little boys, who are sure they are smarter than their parents. If there are any moments of spare time to be had, she reads Sports Illustrated and The New Yorker, and talks with her children about the history of everything, from dinosaurs through Led Zeppelin.

Insurance

Before scheduling your appointment, we recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any copayments, co–insurance, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with OHSU providers, your out of pocket liability may be higher. Visit the billing and insurance section of our site for more information.
