About me

Dr. Young grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. He obtained a combined Bachelor's and Master's degree in Chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania as a Roy Vagelos Molecular Life Sciences Scholar. He then completed medical school at Brown University, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Yale University, where he also served as chief resident. Finally, he went to the University of Michigan to complete a fellowship in adult and pediatric vitreoretinal surgery. His research interests include age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinopathy of prematurity.

In his free time, Dr Young enjoys reading, playing tennis, and spending time with his wife. Finally, he is passionate about developing medical educational tools to enhance the quality of clinical training internationally.

My next appointment will be with a replacement Dr Young has arranged to care for his adult patients while he Is conducting research on the prevention of blindness In children.
