Biography

Dr. Young grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. He obtained a combined Bachelor's and Master's degree in Chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania as a Roy Vagelos Molecular Life Sciences Scholar. He then completed medical school at Brown University, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Yale University, where he also served as chief resident. Finally, he went to the University of Michigan to complete a fellowship in adult and pediatric vitreoretinal surgery. His research interests include age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinopathy of prematurity.
