About me

Dr. Annie Buckmaster is originally from Rochester, New York, but has lived in Portland since 2008 and considers it home.

Dr. Buckmaster enjoys that family medicine is a specialty where she can cultivate meaningful relationships with patients of all ages and histories, from birth to end of life and all the moments in between. She appreciates that the health care of her patients extends beyond the clinic and hospital and is impacted by the systems and institutions that affect our homes and communities. She strives to always keep this in mind and to work alongside her patients with respect and compassion.

Dr. Buckmaster spends her time away from work with her husband, their two amazing daughters and their rescue dog, exploring the Pacific Northwest, hiking, biking, skiing, playing tennis and singing loudly in the car.

She takes all concerns seriously, shares her thoughts on options, and collaborates towards a solution that works for the situation and specific individual in her care. (It would be so easy to dismiss minor things, but instead she offers reassurance and expert insight.) She's also respectful of patient choice - I feel like she supports my informed decisions. Lastly, I find her approach so human. She consistently provides trauma-informed care, and creates an environment of empowerment. I am very grateful to be under her care!

  23. Amazing, so helpful. I've been having pain that Dr. Buckmaster thoroughly investigated & referred for ultrasound (that dept. Got me in right away), which resulted in a productive path to diagnosis. Dr. Buckmaster was efficient & professional, but also very kind & concerned at a time when it meant a lot. Her care was so reassuring, even though the final diagnosis might be scary.
