About me

Dr. Patricia Hong is a family doctor. She loves family medicine because it allows her to follow her patients through each milestone in their life - including the highs and lows. She believes in the power of long-term, trusting relationships with her patients. Her pratice is to look beyond the disease and treat the whole person. No matter what her patients come in with, Dr. Hong does her best to help them achieve total health and wellbeing. As a first generation Chinese-American, Dr. Hong is passinoate about honoring her patients' cultural backgrounds.

Dr. Hong took a "meandering" path to health care, learning something new at every step. Her past experience includes working for the Peace Corps in Albania as an educator, volunteering as an EMT in a fire house, community service work for Habitat for Humanity, and so on. Her history sparked an interest in helping communities stay as healthy as possible.

As a medical student, Dr. Hong realized how important it is to develop lifelong relationships with her patients, which is what led her to family medicine.

When she's not in the clinic, Dr. Hong can be found working in her vegetable garden, baking sourdough, backpacking, snowboarding and mountain biking.

Insurance

Before scheduling an appointment

  1. Check your network. If you have health insurance,  call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
  2. Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.

If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.
