DAISY Academic Award: Faculty

Faculty Eligibility

  • Tenured and Non-Tenured Faculty
  • Full time or Part-Time Faculty
  • Instructors

One faculty from each regional campus, one undergraduate faculty from Portland campus, and one graduate faculty will be selected to receive a DAISY award yearly.

Criteria for selecting an honoree that exemplifies inspiring mentoring for professional growth:

A.  Serves as a role model and mentor for professional nursing.

B.  Demonstrates enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and nursing that inspires and motivates students.

C.  Demonstrates interest in and respect for learners.

D.  Uses personal attributes (e.g. caring, confidence, patience, integrity and flexibility) that facilitate professional growth.

E.  Is fair and unbiased in his/her treatment of individual students.

F.  Excellent interpersonal skills.

G.  Develops collaborative working relationships with students and colleagues.

Nominee Policy Considerations:

  • Everyone who gets a nomination receives a nominee pin
  • Award winner will have the highest mean score based on the scoring rubric
  • Has to meet majority of the criteria

DAISY Academic Award: Student

Student Eligibility:

  • Current full-time student at OHSU SoN

One undergraduate student from each regional campus, two undergraduate students from Portland Campus, and one graduate student will be selected to receive the DAISY award yearly.
 

Criteria for selecting an honoree to be recognized as outstanding future role model in our nursing community:

  • Demonstrates commitment to compassionate care of patients and families
  • Makes a connection with patients, families and peers by building trust and respect
  • Advocates strongly for patients and families

Nominee Policy Considerations:

  • Everyone who gets a nomination receives a nominee pin
  • Award winner will have the highest mean score based on the scoring rubric
  • Has to meet majority of the criteria
