Welcome to the OHSU School of Nursing at Oregon Tech in Klamath Falls. Our campus is located in south central Oregon, nestled in the Klamath Basin on the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains. Known as the “City of Sunshine”, Klamath Falls averages 300 days of sunshine per year, though our high desert climate also provides us with cold snowy winters. Students on the OHSU Klamath Falls campus enjoy all student services provided by Oregon Tech including access to the Outdoor Program offering a variety of affordable activities throughout the year. Admitted nursing students experience an environment of belonging with small class sizes, engaged faculty and staff, and learning in a community where their presence is valued. Partner with us for your nursing education journey. We look forward to meeting you.

Why our Klamath Falls campus

The campus, located in Klamath County, is just 60 miles from Oregon’s only national park, Crater Lake, and is 20 miles from the California border. Known as Oregon’s “city of sunshine”, Klamath Falls enjoys about 300 days of blue skies yearly. Klamath Falls is also located along the Pacific Flyway bird migration route. Klamath Falls is a city of about 20,000 residents (45.000 in urban growth area), nestled on the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains.

The campus offers views of Upper Klamath Lake, pine-studded knolls, and snow-capped peaks from nearly every building.

OHSU Street Nursing Team

Among the many clinical rotations our students get to experience is the Street Nursing team. The Street Nursing team on both the Ashland and Klamath Falls campuses provides experiences that deepen understanding of the complexities of homelessness. Our street nursing teams engage with ongoing clinical and community work in supporting unsheltered individuals.

Simulation at Klamath Falls

Our simulation learning activities allow for a deeper and hands-on approach to learning; from health assessments and communication to chronic and acute conditions. Students will engage with low to high-fidelity manikins along with standardized patients in this experience.

Student life at OIT

OHSU students on the OIT campus have access to all the amenities Oregon Tech offers, from the recreation and student health centers to the library and learning support services.

OHSU Nursing students on the OIT campus may also participate in many activities on and off campus. Students may participate in student government, athletics, or any number of volunteer activities. Students can access hiking and biking trails within a short distance of campus or explore winter sports at Warner Mountain or Mt. Shasta.
