About me

Tina Truong’s path in health care began in her childhood when she spent significant time in hospitals and caring for ill family members. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Tina spent her time as a nurse caring for vulnerable adults with complex chronic health conditions. Her passion is caring for underserved populations, those experiencing houselessness and individuals with trauma history, and supporting individuals with mental health conditions and substance use. Tina believes that each person has a story and she seeks to understand and care for the whole individual. Tina finds joy in caring for adults with complex medical conditions and partnering with patients to meet mutual health goals. She also enjoys the relationships she develops with her patients and their families over time.

Tina grew up in Portland and spent most of her life in the same neighborhood. Outside of work she spends time with her family, which consists of her four siblings, mom and two dogs — Chewy and Sky. She loves to kayak and adores road trips exploring the Oregon coast and forest. You can also find her curled up with a book or working on a puzzle.

Insurance

Before scheduling an appointment

  1. Check your network. If you have health insurance,  call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
  2. Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.

If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.

Visit our billing and insurance page for more information.

  1. I felt so fortified and uplifted after I had my appointment with Dr. Tina. She is so creative with treatment but also very practical. I Had 10 separate issues to talk to her about. She was extremely patient and was really keeping up with everything typing away, especially because I talk fast. I have a host of conditions that need treatment, and she always makes me feel that I'm in such a place of safety and non-judgment. She is absolutely the best primary care provider I have ever had, or any clinician for that matter. Also, her medical assistant is excellent. I'm very sensitive to pain and I knew I had two vaccinations coming, and he did such a great job. I barely felt them I think because he puts the needle in at the proper angle with the correct speed and pressure. Overall, I am very grateful that Dr. Tina is my provider and I feel very well taken care of. I feel a little stressed out when she goes on vacation because I know that there will not be anyone else that is as good as she is in providing care! I went to InstaCare, but was grateful that I could go to her for a second opinion when she got back from her trip.
