About me
Tina Truong’s path in health care began in her childhood when she spent significant time in hospitals and caring for ill family members. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Tina spent her time as a nurse caring for vulnerable adults with complex chronic health conditions. Her passion is caring for underserved populations, those experiencing houselessness and individuals with trauma history, and supporting individuals with mental health conditions and substance use. Tina believes that each person has a story and she seeks to understand and care for the whole individual. Tina finds joy in caring for adults with complex medical conditions and partnering with patients to meet mutual health goals. She also enjoys the relationships she develops with her patients and their families over time.
Tina grew up in Portland and spent most of her life in the same neighborhood. Outside of work she spends time with her family, which consists of her four siblings, mom and two dogs — Chewy and Sky. She loves to kayak and adores road trips exploring the Oregon coast and forest. You can also find her curled up with a book or working on a puzzle.

Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.
If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.

Caring, knowledgeable.
Very thorough with neuropathy tests. She told me to go to ED if I had a headache. I did the next day, found subdural hematoma. Turned out to be lifesaving info.
Knowledgeable Caring Helpful
She was great, efficient, kind, understanding and seemed very knowledgeable. I was not able to get into a doctor quickly, but she was more available and I am not sorry I ended having her involved in my care.
My PCP has been very helpful in many ways. She is articulate and thinks ahead to prevent illnesses.
Tina was organized as to the purpose of our video visit. She listened to my preferences and gave practical guidance for next steps.
We have developed a lovely friendship while trying to learn what M.S does to speed the end of one's life. (We still don't really know)
My entire experience, starting with making an appointment to saying goodbye was greatcouldn't have been better.

Went very well
My primary care provider, Dr. Tina Truong, is a skilled clinician. She kept me out of the hospital yet again with her quick response to my mychart messages, and her direction. I am so very grateful for her care. She gives an attention to detail that is exceptional; her easygoing manner combined with her competence make her the ideal primary care provider.
