  • Assistant Professor of Medicine, School of Medicine

Biography

Tina Truong’s path in health care began in her childhood when she spent significant time in hospitals and caring for ill family members. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Tina spent her time as a nurse caring for vulnerable adults with complex chronic health conditions. Her passion is caring for underserved populations, those experiencing houselessness and individuals with trauma history, and supporting individuals with mental health conditions and substance use. Tina believes that each person has a story and she seeks to understand and care for the whole individual. Tina finds joy in caring for adults with complex medical conditions and partnering with patients to meet mutual health goals. She also enjoys the relationships she develops with her patients and their families over time.

Tina grew up in Portland and spent most of her life in the same neighborhood. Outside of work she spends time with her family, which consists of her four siblings, mom and two dogs — Chewy and Sky. She loves to kayak and adores road trips exploring the Oregon coast and forest. You can also find her curled up with a book or working on a puzzle.
