About me

Dr. Melissa Gillespie is a primary care doctor who treats patients of all ages. She offers services in family medicine, including:

  • Pediatrics
  • Obstetrics (prenatal/perinatal/postnatal care)
  • Internal medicine
  • Immediate care
  • Osteopathic manual medicine

Dr. Gillespie takes a holistic approach to meet patients where they are. She helps people fit their health goals into their lives in a way that works for them. Dr. Gillespie also loves connecting with patients through storytelling.  

She says about her approach to patient care, “I am passionate about providing a brave space for families, the LGBTQIA+ community, people with developmental disabilities, folks with migration stories and anyone else that has not traditionally been comfortable in a medical setting."     

She and her wife are originally from California. They are the happy parents of two daughters, a golden doodle named Sunny and his partner in crime, a tabby cat named Pepperoncini. Dr. Gillespie also loves biking and exploring Portland with her family.

  2. Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.

If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.
