Accepting new patients

  • Resident Physician, Family Medicine

About me

Dr. Jason Hernandez is a resident physician who treats all conditions, whether new or ongoing. He has a special interest in preventive care and musculoskeletal, sports and joint injuries. He enjoys finding treatments that match the goals of his patients, including but not limited to nutrition, exercise and prescription and over-the-counter medications.

Dr. Hernandez is proud to be an Oregonian who has lived, worked and trained in Eugene, Corvallis and Portland. He attended Oregon State University where he volunteered with health care-related groups, worked in a botany lab and rode around the Pacific Northwest with the cycling team. During medical school he developed a passion for primary care and for working to promote health equity within medically underserved communities. Family medicine allows him to develop long-term relationships with his patients so that he can know what is important to them at different stages of their lives and care for them as a whole person.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two Corgis, cycling, working in the garden and traveling.

Insurance

Before scheduling your appointment, we recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any copayments, co–insurance, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with OHSU providers, your out of pocket liability may be higher. Visit the billing and insurance section of our site for more information.
