I am a family practice physician who provides patients of all ages with a variety of treatments, including:

• Family planning
• Pregnancy care, including pregnancy care for trans/NB patients
• Contraception
• Outpatient procedures including incision/drainage, skin biopsies, and toenail removal
• LGBT+ care including HRT
• Routine health care for all ages
• Health education
• Sports physicals

I have taken a winding path to medicine. After training as a musician in high school, I earned undergraduate degrees in archaeology and history, worked with park rangers in Massachusetts and Utah and later spent several years in restaurant management in New Orleans while preparing for medical school. Along the way, I earned a master's degree in chemistry, taught at Xavier University and completed medical school with an M.P.H. focused on community health. After moving to Portland and spending a year in surgical residency, I found my home in family medicine.

I believe in a human-first approach to medicine, with priority placed on each individual's needs, goals and experiences to help guide our medical decisions. Building a strong therapeutic relationship is, in my view, the foundation of overall health. I enjoy getting to know my patients, their families and their priorities so I can develop a personalized approach to long-term care. I am also deeply interested in how individuals interact with larger systems, including cultural, health care and economic systems, to shape health outcomes. Questions such as who has access to resources and information, why different patients choose different approaches to the same medical problem, and how people from diverse backgrounds define health and wellness continue to drive my curiosity and inform my practice.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading (I have a home library), gaming (I built my own computer!), fiber arts including embroidery and knitting, cooking, spending time with my dog, hosting family and friends and visiting museums and art galleries.
