About me

Dr. Christina Low Kapalu is a pediatric clinical psychologist who treats children experiencing gastrointestinal disorders, elimination disorders, tics and Tourette syndrome and problems with sleep, feeding or behavior. She provides behavioral therapy with parent management training, cognitive behavior therapy for anxiety, gut-directed CBT and hypnotherapy, pill swallowing training, exposure and response prevention. She loves collaborating with patients and families to provide holistic and patient-centered care.

Dr. Low Kapalu’s clinical and research interests involve the assessment and treatment of gastrointestinal disorders, the intersection of medical conditions and developmental disabilities, the promotion of youth mental health within medical settings, and common pediatric behavioral concerns (e.g., tics and habit disorders, sleep, behavior problems, toileting).

Dr. Low Kapalu is the division director for Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion for the Pediatric Psychology Department at OHSU. She demonstrates an ongoing commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion efforts within her institution and nationally and was elected as the Member at Large for Diversity for the Society of Pediatric Psychology in 2021.

In her free time, she enjoys exercising, cooking, spending time with her family and traveling.
