About me

Dr. Castigliano M Bhamidipati is an Associate Professor of Surgery in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, OHSU School of Medicine. He has particular interest and expertise in managing patients with complex aortic diseases and adults with congenital heart disease. He also performs surgery for patients with other cardiovascular diseases, including coronary artery disease and valvular heart disease.

Dr. Bhamidipati was raised in India and moved to Virginia as a teenager. After earning his bachelor's degree, he went on to serve as a firefighter-paramedic for the City of Roanoke on the tactical rescue team for several years.

He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic medicine degree from the University of New England. He later earned a Master of Science (Clinical Investigation) and Ph.D. (Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics) degrees at the University of Virginia. He completed residencies, and was chief resident, in general surgery at The State University of New York Upstate Medical University and in cardiothoracic surgery at University of Washington. Dr. Bhamidipati is inducted as a Fellow into the American College of Surgeons.
