About me
Dr. Brian Garvey is a family physician that also specializes in preventive medicine. He believes that a holistic approach to medicine is vital to people's health and wellness. For this reason, he is committed to leaving time in the patient-doctor relationship for stories and humor. He is especially grateful to be able to care for children and multiple generations of the same family. He enjoys speaking conversational Spanish with his patients.
Dr. Garvey is an Oregon native, a lifelong Blazers fan, and the proud father of two children. In addition to clinical medicine, he is an active researcher and educator in OHSU’s Department of Family Medicine.

Insurance
Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.
If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.
