About me

Dr. Leaverton specializes in general obstetrics and gynecology. She focuses on listening to, and partnering with, her patients. She strives to provide compassionate care that empowers women and feels privileged to support women through important life events. Her medical interests include vulvar health, sexual health, caring for underserved populations, contraception, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and education. 

Dr. Leaverton is a Portland native. Before going to medical school she was a middle school teacher in New York City. She was excited to return home to Oregon for residency and is thrilled to continue working here at OHSU. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family (which mostly involves trying to keep up with her toddler), exploring Portland restaurants, reading novels, skiing, hiking and fly fishing.

  1. Dr. Leaverton has been great through the whole surgical process, she is very professional and I felt confident in her skills. During my follow up visit she answered all of my questions and gave clear instructions for the remainder of my healing. I am glad to have had such a competent surgeon involved in my case.

  3. Dr. Leverton is wonderful as always. Very thourough and reassuring. The assistant who took my blood pressure and drew my blood was one of the nicest and helpful I have ever met before an appointment. She had a lovely name I cannot remember, but I wanted to speficially call her out for being amazing.

  4. Dr. Leaverton is very easy to talk with, very concerned about my issues, and extremely helpful in coming up with some treatment or additional thoughts. The staff has responded to me quickly via email as well at times.

  6. My gynecology appointment was exceptional. A student NP first met with me going over my concerns (took some time), after that Dr Leaverton came in, listened and really took her time to go over the same issues again. I liked that there was no time-pressure or a stressed doctor quickly handling/ending the appointment. One of the best doctor's visits I had in my life!

  21. Even though we were running 45 minutes late, Dr spent plenty of time with me assuring I understood everything. Spoke to me in language I truly understood, and went back through my file when I had questions I needed following up on.
