About me

I am a general internal medicine doctor who provides primary and palliative care to adults, including older adults. I strive to care for the whole person and to make decisions about health and healthcare together with the patient.

Outside of patient care, I study the spiritual, religious, ethical and communication aspects of medical decision-making for older adults, including surrogate decision-making for older adults with dementia and other forms of cognitive impairment. My research focuses on populations that are diverse in terms of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identify, and it has explored the healthcare experiences of underrepresented groups.

In my spare time I enjoy hiking, camping and skiing.
