About me

Dr. Chen specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma and cataract. After completing a B.A degree in neuroscience and behavior from New York, she moved to the west coast and received her M.D. and completed her ophthalmology residency and glaucoma fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. She was born in Taiwan and is therefore fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese. Due to her love for travel and other cultures she is also conversant in Spanish. During her free time she enjoys playing piano, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her family.

  21. Dr. Chen is friendly and is willing to answer all my questions. The waiting time to see her is unreasonable. I sat in the little room for almost an hour waiting as she saw other patients that were also probably waiting for her.

She shows concerns, seeks to understand, has full eye contact when talking with me, does not talk down to me, communicates options for treatment plan and discusses +'s / -'s. She is respectful and I never feel like she is rushing (even though I know she has patients stacked up). I couldn't possibly wish for better care.
