About me
*Open to new OB/prenatal, pediatric, and sports medicine patients.
Dr. Sherilyn DeStefano is a primary care physician with specialized training in sports medicine. She chose to pursue a career in family medicine because she enjoys taking care of people across all stages of life, including babies, children and pregnant individuals. Before becoming a doctor, Dr. DeStefano studied sociology and served in AmeriCorps doing community outreach and programming. In working with her patients, she uses lessons learned from these experiences to get to know each individual’s story to partner together to maintain their health and well-being. She has a special interest in women’s health including obstetrics, contraception and gynecological procedures.
A former Division I athlete, Dr. DeStefano is passionate about helping individuals of all ages stay active and recover from injury. She has worked with multiple sports teams ranging from the high school to the professional level. She is involved nationally with groups working to improve exercise recommendations and musculoskeletal care for pregnant individuals, as well as working to improve screening for sexual violence among athletes.
Outside of her clinical practice, Dr. DeStefano is a faculty member at OHSU, conducting research and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
When not working, she enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, skiing, and biking with her family. She is known to try to pack in as much travel as possible during her time off given her love for exploring new places, but also finds joy in time spent closer to home trying new recipes or listening to live music.

I can't say enough positive things about Dr. DeStefano! She's kind, patient and clearly cares about the health and wellbeing of her patients. I feel very fortunate to have her as my primary care provider!
Excellent as always
Excellent, caring, and compassionate
Dr. De Stefano was incredible! She went above and beyond to support our son.
Very helpful and explained procedures
Dr DeStefano is a good listener and very thoughtful.
All the physicians I've seen so far has been very helpful and knowledgeable about everything.
Good
Relaxed, easy going, discussed my issue in detail.
Dr DeStefano is excellent. Listens and explains all medical issues.
Very nice and patient. Thorough. Understanding & sympathetic.
Dr. DeStefano is great. But, she only has so much capacity. I keep hearing that the clinic is understaffed, and that's a problem. It's probably bigger than just the clinic. I understand there are fewer doctors choosing primary care as a career nationwide and that Portland specifically has a shortage.
My provider listened to my concerns and thoroughly answered my questions. She provided the high level of care I required and performed additional testing to make a proper diagnosis and additional resources.
Always professional, pleasant and kind. Thorough exam. Offers choices of care when appropriate.
Dr. DeStefano is one of the most skilled and personable physicians I've ever seen.
She couldn't be more perfect!
Sr DeStefano is thorough, suggests sensible referrals, and takes care of any new issues (eg I had a broken finger she had X-ray d and bandaged / splinted)
Unprepared. Unsure of workflows at this clinic, but procedure room was not set up for my procedure. MD and her shadow MD were not prepared causing me to question their ability.
Dr DeStephano was great, but the resident asked most of the questions.
She is very caring, listens to me, answered all of by questions. I like the treatment plan we are going with
The doctor listened to me, answered questions I had. I felt they really cared
Always an excellent experience with Dr De Stefano.
Good listener, knowledgeable, understood my problem and recommended reasonable measures.
Dr Destefano listened super well. Was very methodical with my shoulder evaluation. She was patient, professional, caring and efficient. Made referrals that make sense and I felt heard.
Dr. DeStefano is such an excellent physician, from her kind professional demeanor to her evident skill in diagnosis and recommendations. It's unusual in health care these days to feel such personal connection with a caregiver, and I really value it. It's not easy for her to carve out this space in her demanding profession, I feel sure. I'm terrified of losing ber.
Dr. DeStefano understands I am responsible for my health and supports my best wellness path with her extensive knowledge, clear communication, and genuine care.
Had carefully read my chart. Asked appropriate questions. Listened well. Explained clearly.
She's very good at listening to your concerns. Very attentive and caring about what you have to say. She's a fantastic Dr. . I feel very comfortable with her.
Dr. DeStephano Is competent, self assured, clear, and charming.
Excellent
