About me

*Open to new OB/prenatal, pediatric, and sports medicine patients.

Dr. Sherilyn DeStefano is a primary care physician with specialized training in sports medicine. She chose to pursue a career in family medicine because she enjoys taking care of people across all stages of life, including babies, children and pregnant individuals. Before becoming a doctor, Dr. DeStefano studied sociology and served in AmeriCorps doing community outreach and programming. In working with her patients, she uses lessons learned from these experiences to get to know each individual’s story to partner together to maintain their health and well-being. She has a special interest in women’s health including obstetrics, contraception and gynecological procedures.

A former Division I athlete, Dr. DeStefano is passionate about helping individuals of all ages stay active and recover from injury. She has worked with multiple sports teams ranging from the high school to the professional level. She is involved nationally with groups working to improve exercise recommendations and musculoskeletal care for pregnant individuals, as well as working to improve screening for sexual violence among athletes.

Outside of her clinical practice, Dr. DeStefano is a faculty member at OHSU, conducting research and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

When not working, she enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, skiing, and biking with her family. She is known to try to pack in as much travel as possible during her time off given her love for exploring new places, but also finds joy in time spent closer to home trying new recipes or listening to live music.
