About me
I’m Shelby Anderson, a family medicine doctor specializing in full-spectrum family medicine, pregnancy care, and behavioral health.
I provide treatments that include full-spectrum family medicine, obstetrics care, substance use disorder care, mental health services, LGBTQIA and gender-affirming care, and chronic disease management.
I love building relationships with my patients and believe that as a family medicine doctor, it’s a privilege to be part of their health journey. I’m passionate about health equity and incorporate anti-oppression, harm reduction, and social justice philosophies into my care.
Originally from Texas, I’m excited to keep exploring the incredible Pacific Northwest outdoors with my husband and discovering new bike trails in Portland. I also love reading science fiction books, growing food, gardening, and sharing meals with my family.

Insurance
Before scheduling an appointment
- Check your network. If you have health insurance, call your company to find out if the OHSU Health location or provider you plan to visit is part of your network.
- Ask what you will pay. Your insurance company can tell you what your costs are likely to be.
If you schedule an appointment and your health insurance does not include OHSU Health, you may have to pay more than if you go to a provider in your insurance network.
